Alex Benton

I recently graduated from University of Silicon Valley (formerly Cogswell Polytechnic University) with a Bachelor’s of Science in Game Design Engineering.

Every day, I ride my electric bike the three miles to theCoderSchool in Folsom to work as an afterschool programming tutor. After about a year and a half working there, I’ve amassed more students than all of the other coaches at that location combined by far.

I am a Programmer with experience in creating Neural Networks, Procedural Generation, and Shaders.

In my free time, I have been running a regular weekly Pathfinder TTRPG Campaign for my friends for the last four years.  I have participated in a wide variety of Game Jams, including the yearly Global Game Jam many times.

I am currently an afterschool programming tutor for The Coder School in Folsom.

Game Design and Development is my passion. I believe that producing games helps a person develop almost every knowledge base, and I find it incredibly fulfilling. Creating games requires skills in math, programming, many sciences, writing, psychology, art, and many, many more.
